Coronavirus: The Risks and Avoiding Them

It seems many people are breathing some relief, and I’m not sure why. An epidemic curve has a relatively predictable upslope and once the peak is reached, the back slope can also be predicted. We have robust data from the outbreaks in China and Italy, that shows the backside of the mortality curve declines slowly, with deaths persisting for months. Assuming we have just crested in deaths at 70k, it is possible that we lose another 70,000 people over the next 6 weeks as we come off that peak. That's what's going to happen with a lockdown.

The Risks - Know Them - Avoid Them

(Emphasis mine)

Please, please, please: just because your community says "We're relaxing restrictions" does NOT mean it's back to life the way it was before SARS-Cov-2. There is no conspiracy, there is an infectious, contagious, often DEADLY viral agent loose in our populations.

I'm watching the Senate hearing where Dr. Fauci is scheduled to speak, and I'm thinking senators look more like people on Zoom, speaking from their homes. Let the "wise leader" facade fall away and listen to what they are really saying, folks.

Wanting to pull together some thoughts on the novel coronavirus #COVID19, and where we are here in #Arizona. But there's so much to pull together I just get so tired. 🦠🗑🔥

Looking for LED lights like Adam Savage (@donttrythis) used on his work light build, but Amazon is out with no timeframe on re-stock. Anyone found a good alternative?

@idangazit - you were right! Foundryside was amazing! A short review is here

Read: Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett

Wow, thanks to Idan Gazit for recommending Robert Jackson Bennett's #scifi #fantasy novel Foundryside.

Every think programming is magic? IT IS. Ever wonder complain that your code is doing what you said instead of what you meant? BEWARE. Magic and technology, mystical hacking, sentient objects and the ancient and tormented souls that drive them...

You're going to love it. Thanks Idan.

Read: The Monster of Elendhaven

Sort of Frankenstein mixed with Lovecraft... interesting but not a happy tale.
