Must have been the candy canes...

Last night I dreamed that I got hired by The Unofficial Apple Weblog. Only they were based in Altensteig, Germany (where I worked for several years). Riiiiiight.

VoteBack

I've been hacking on a Wordpress implementation of VoteLinks - one that actually discovers if the incoming link contains a vote in the form of a rev attribute with one of the vote-link values: vote-for vote-abstain or vote-against.

VoteLinks + Trackback: VoteBack

I learned about VoteLinks from Jeremy Keith's post on 24Ways, and posted yesterday about some css+javascript VoteLink UI experiments.

Testing VoteLinks

In a recent 24 Ways entry, Jeremy Keith described how to Boost Your Hyperlink Power through the use of the a tag's rev attribute and the VoteLinks microformat.

There are very good reasons...

for me to stop drinking soda RIGHT NOW.

But really. Ew.

Supreme Court Justices Scalia and Breyer participated in a debate sponsored by the American Constitution Society and the Federalist Society. On Slate.com, Dahlia Lithwick descibes their diverging styles:

Wishlist

With Christmas coming up, I remembered that I had a rusty old wishlist over on Amazon. So today I pulled it out, scraped off the crud, gave it a polish and some upgrades. If you're a friend, family, or a kind stranger and want some ideas, check it out:

Damn You, Batman

There's a hysterical Q&A with Sylvester Stallone on on AICN . Here's a great one:

Republicans Land-mining Incoming Dems

This is repulsive: Republicans Set Obstacles for Incoming Democrats, and I'm ashamed I voted for anyone involved in this.

Streaming our lives away...

Dustin asked for my lifestream code (a mangled version of Jeremy's), so I sent it to him and now you can find him around the web.

Microsoft's Media Triumvirate

With Microsoft's release of the Zune, the Mac internet is going nuts explaining why the Zune is a broken, inferior product to Apple's iPod. And at first glance I have to agree with them. But my cynicism is tingling, and I don't think that Microsoft intended the Zune to start out as a viable iPod competitor. Instead, the Zune is part of a strategic triumvirate intended to make the iPod irrelevant on Windows. This strategy is composed of Windows, the XBox, the Zune, and, playing the part of the One Ring: XBox Live Marketplace.

Latest kuler API docs

My work on documenting kuler's REST API is coming along nicely. Here are the methods I've written up so far:

kuler API testing continued

As described in my last post, I've been working on documenting the kuler REST API. Last night I whipped up an RSS feed for any user's themes. You'll have to visit the page and login to get the link, but after that the feed will work even without logging in.

Adobe's kuler API exposed

Geekery ahead.

Marching Penguin Feet

Adelina and I went to see Happy Feet last weekend... the movie was really good (if a bit preachy towards the end), but I wish that Adelina had been able to see the real penguins in March of the Penguins first. Luckily, it came on TV this weekend and we were able to TiVo it, so she got to see it while the other was still fresh in her mind. We all enjoyed the movie, though we decided that emperor penguins, while being cute and fuzzy as chicks and fun and funny as adults, lead a life that we're glad we don't.

Deliciously...
