iChat and CasualSpace

John Perry Barlow posts about iChat AV and the resulting telepresence with Joi Ito.

Xmas Mouse

Cool! Two of the cool toys I got for Christmas are a Podium Pad (essential for the PowerBook owner) and a Kensington PocketMouse Optical Pro. This mouse is totally cool, with a retractable USB cable that hides in the mouse for easy mobility - and after my ancient MacAlly ball mouse, this mouse is amazing!

Making Connections

I posted recently about my new job at Re-Mac Computers. It's been a good few weeks! I've enjoyed working with customers to help them find the Mac that works for them, and I've had the chance to go out and help folks at their homes and businesses to get their Macs up and working as they should. Fun stuff!

I'm a bad blogger.

I have some news to post, and a backlog of links, but I'm too busy/tired/distracted to post.

Things to do before work

Score 640,000+ in 7 levels of Deimos Rising. Rawk! smile

Working!

Wow. I'm really tired, but really happy.

Flu: 2, Ivys: 0

Yes, Jodi and I both managed to contract the flu while out of town for the holiday. I think I got it on the plane headed out east, and, well, Jodi got it from me.

Thank You

Well, I was going to write an essay on what I'm thankful for this year, but it would be way too long and I'm headed out of town tomorrow early. So here's the short list: 1) My awesome, loving [wife][1], Jodi. 2) God giving us the grace to survive 18 mos of unemployment to arrive here with [two][2] [jobs][3]. Thanks God.

Greetings From Re-Mac

Hello from my new professional home. W000t! I'm not unemployed anymore!!!

Generating Python from XML Schema

I've been toying with the idea of writing a python library for Apple's Keynote file format, APXL.

Test-fly Plone

Objectis is providing free Plone sites. If you're interested in Content Management, Python, Web Applications, or such, and have not checked out Plone, here's your chance.

Sedona Day Trip

I'm day-tripping up to Sedona today to do some Mac troubleshooting for a client. Gorgeous country AND Macs? How nice.

Phoenix Python Users Group?

Anyone out there interested in (or know of) a python users group in the Phoenix metro area? I'd like to find like-minded individuals to hang with and learn from.

Pebble-Bed Nuclear: Safer, Cheaper Power?

Wired: Uranium Pebbles May Light the Way.

Python, unicode, ascii, encodings

I've been working on a python-based app for a week or so now (on and off) and I've run into a spate of problems I don't know how to handle.

Useful: /etc/hosts for Windows

Google rocks.

Feedster implements RSS of cached posts

Scott Johnson is at it again. After better grokking a suggestion I made, he implemented a new feature on Feedster: getting an RSS version of a single cached blog post, by passing in the url of a permalink for that post.

Feedster Forums, Dev Support

Scott Johnson of Feedster posted about two new support tools they've got - a new web board, and the feedster-dev mailing list (Yahoo).

Looking For Good Basic Web Hosting

I'm looking for a reputable basic hosting provider for a client. Apache and CGI (or mod_perl), between 75 and 100mb of disk space, and around $20/mo.
