I got about 2/3 of the way through a long-ish post about Trumps's war on the states and had to pause to recover. Hopefully by tomorrow.

Anyone got a good idea on providing a daily-digest email list? I already have a daily digest page on my blog http://monkinetic.blog/2020/04/20/

Also, I really need to implement a webmention server https://webmention.rocks/

I like the look of the content on The Week - who publishes it?

Too may things to blog today. Content incoming

Thread: https://twitter.com/timkmak/status/1251936242834563073 -- Same people resisting masking, different pandemic #COVID19 #masksforall #publichealth

Today in 1987, I received my Eagle rank award in the Boy Scouts of America, at age 16. I don't regret being involved in scouting at all, but I am hurt and incredibly saddened at all the harm the BSA has done to scouts by not handling abuse within its ranks. A Scout is Trustworthy, indeed.

This is beyond sobering, to terrifying: https://medium.com/@tomaspueyo/coronavirus-out-of-many-one-36b886af37e9

Hubei shut down with 444 confirmed cases, and ended up with close to 70,000 cases and 3,200 deaths.

Arizona "shut down" (not really locked down) March 31, with about 1500 cases.

Evening project: started sewing simple tie-back surgical style cloth masks to donate #covid19 #masks4all

Klatchian Coffee

"Klatchian coffee has an even bigger sobering effect than an unexpected brown envelope from the tax man. In fact, coffee enthusiasts take the precaution of getting thoroughly drunk before touching the stuff, because Klatchian coffee takes you back through sobriety and, if you're not careful, out the other side, where the mind of man should not go."

-- Men At Arms, Terry Pratchett

So I'm in @yougov's several-hour induction/onboarding meeting with 16 other employees, and it's really cool! History of the company, discussion, overview of goals and vision, overview of products, and more. 😀 Does your company do this?

A neat blog client that uses LiveCode, a modern-day code environment sort of inspired by HyperCard? Cool!

The Return of Mr. Ni

What with #stayhomestaysafe and all, a comment from Les Orchard on Twitter inspired me to re-install Quake 3 Arena... behold the return of Mr. Ni.

Repaired some stuff in #goldfrog around #webmention handling on weird responses (hello amzn redirects)

Books I've read in 2020... http://monkinetic.blog/tag/reading2020

Read: Pyramids (Discworld #7)

Another Discworld book I hadn't read yet! Yes, a pyramid can be too big. And woe be to the cosmological architects who build it!
