I don’t know if I’m going to try to sync back to git, but if I do it will be built in and automatic.
So I want to edit in the browser, basically. But one trick I want:
Posts are going to be Jekyll-compatible markdown, but indexed in a db for live rendering and searching, generating archive pages etc without having to read 2700+ posts every time the page loads.
Main features are that I’m the only one that can log in, there’s no admin, posting is done from the top of the home page, and every post has an edit-this-post link.
I’ve barely blogged for 3-4 years because of the friction in doing so. Never wanted Wordpress and their ilk, and the nerdy git-powered static site generators required well, git.
So in 2020 I’m writing my own one-man toy blog software that does a very few things that I want.
