Google Ads are back

Well, the experiment continues. Now that I'm back at redmonk.net, I've put the Google ads back on the blog. I get almost no hits on them, but with the new design and more frequent posts, we'll see what happens!

WWDC Speculation Begins

My favorite anesthesiologist posts a tidbit about what might be in store for the G5 series come Apple's

WWDC

. Let The G5 Update Speculation Begin. Oh, what fun!

Wiggle your big toe...

The nuclear moose: Wiggle your big toe... >"Wiggle your big toe." It just popped into my head. "Wiggle your big toe." I began to focus on that phrase, and I recalled the scene from the movie. The Bride was going to get out of that situation, and only calm reflection and concentration was going to work for her.

Hey, Nobody's Forcing You To Be A Janitor

Erik can be really cold sometimes. But funny. Oh, so funny.

Site Update

As some of you may have figured, I've basically finished switching this site over to WordPress, and it's back at the root of redmonk.net. LIkely you've been redirected to redmonk.net from http://www.redmonk.net/monkinetic.

Hm, this could be a problem...

Via Scripting News: > Ananova: "A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless -- they weren't having sex."

Design Eye for the Usability Guy

Design by Fire: Design Eye for the Usability Guy > Further, in the spirit of sharing, I decided I'd gather up some knowledgeable designers and help Nielsen in return with a little bit of design advice. The Design Fab Five, right here, right now.

Blogging For Fun & Profit

Every couple of weeks, Content Connections has a "learning lunch" where one of the employees will volunteer to do a presentation on... something. ;)

Joel on Software - Fire And Motion > We just have to come in every morning and somehow, launch the editor.

Frontier Kernel going Open Source

Scripting News: 5/17/2004 >At some point in the next few months, there will be an open source release of the Frontier kernel. Not sure what license it'll use. There won't be any grand expectations of what kind of community will develop. Even if no bugs get fixed, if no features get added, if no new OSes are supported, it will be worth it, because its future will be assured. That's the point Ted makes, and that's my reasoning behind this.

How to find a motorcycle?

I'm looking for (researching, really) a 600cc motorcycle in the Phoenix area. I really like the Honda Shadow VLX, but they seem hard to come by. I'd rather not spend much - part of my motivation is the high cost of gasoline in the valley right now, and if I can get the bike without getting rid of my truck that would be best.

Priceline Comes Through!

Jodi and I are going to San Diego for Memorial Day weekend. We originally thought we'd do the camping thing to be cheap, but after looking into the prices for camps (not as cheap as you might think) we decided that we may be able to get a hotel for not a whole lot more.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin

I was looking for an image to test some server code with, with stumbled across this cool photo I took at Taliesin, Frank Lloyd Wright's home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Slashdot | Bloggers Assail Movable Type's New Pricing Scheme

Bloggers Assail Movable Type's New Pricing Scheme: >WordPress (GPL), which is an equally powerful CMS, seems like a perfect candidate for those who are considering a switch to a non-crippled, free alternative."

Woohoo! Viva Employment!

Sean McMains (friend and Conversant user) has been out of work since March when they closed the office of Electronic Arts where he worked. > Woohoo! Just heard from the University, and they extended me an offer! I should be starting on Monday.

Fairtax is being debated in Congress

I was chatting with Jim last night and he told me that he had been watching CSPAN and saw them debating the FairTax on the floor of the House. I was dubious - I read about FairTax several years ago and never got the impression it would go anywhere - companies wouldn't put up with losing their legal loopholes.

Google Blog!

It's about frikkin' time...

Weblog Tools

Mark Ghosh posted his list of web dev tools, and invited us to do the same, so here goes:

Bill Bumgarner: IP more sacred than life?

Bill Bumgarner: IP more sacred than life? >In Japan if you develop software that MIGHT be used to violate copyright laws you can be charged with a crime and be arrested. Yet, in the USA, if you manufacture guns that MIGHT be used to kill someone you are essentially immune from criminal prosecution...
