A Sort Of Homecoming

Song of the day: A Sort Of Homecoming.

Radio Userland, Tools

Just thought I'd point out that Radio Userland ships soon, and along with it a new era in Frontier-based scripting for those who do not need Frontier as a server platform. Right now I'm developing a Tool that runs unit tests on our internal XML-RPC server. Sweet!

Media site

I've started using Radio Userland again recently, and have found that its upstreaming-via-ftp feature is a great way to get file and images onto my static server. That site is now media central for this site.

ATTN Readers and Webloggers: Link Changes

I've changed the behavior of the links on the post titles on redmonk.net. Clicking the title will now take you to the thread page for that message, which I think is more useful (and prettier too). If you want to view just the message, or link to a post, use the "Msg Link" link just below the post.

blogtracker

Jim is mocking me... I just re-discovered blogtracker, née the SubHonker Filter. Dan has even has a Mozilla sidebar for it. Joy Joy! Now I can get all these pesky Weblogs out of my bookmarks.

The Tick to be canceled

Nooooooooooo!! The Tick, Fox's live-action version of the great comic and animated show, is being cancelled. Oh what hath Fox wrought?

Radio X

Brent from Userland wrote up a description as to how Radio Userland 8.0 is a Mac OS X app. I don't know how much Radio is going to cost when it is released, but 8.0 may be the version to bring me back to Frontier.

I have nothing to post.

I have nothing to post.

iPhoto, scripting CMSes

Wes: "I know I'd like to be able to easily link iPhoto into Manila; currently it takes a lot of clicks to get photos into this site."

Creative External SoundBlaster

Found on SlashDot: an external SoundBlaster box from Creative. Looks pretty cool. It's got a bunch of inputs (including midi, optical, two minis - device and mic, and more) and as many or more outputs, including 5.1 surround. Wow. Neat.

If you're in need of refreshment...

...and you're near a Trader Joe's, pick up a four-pack of Virgil's Rootbeer. Good, good, stuff.

Eager iMac

One of the things I like about the new iMac. Check out this picture from Chris DiBona - the iMac seems "eager". "Use me!" it says.

Triple Header

Jodi's at Macworld, so I'm chilling at home tonight, enjoying rented entertainment. The score so far:

The Digital Hub

Fun with the Digital Hub idea...

I'm from outer space!

Check out this pic from Cameron The Alien's latest adventure. Mom Warning: language ;-)

The Penguin and the Ox

Doc has a really cool article over on Linux Journal, reporting from MacWorld. BTW Doc, I think someone already has the Ox, I'm not sure. (I can see it in my head, but for the life of me I can't remember where to look for it.)

Gates Admits XP is "Big Brother"

"You can consider it the little brother version of Windows XP," said Gates.

Pay attention, Bill!

Gates again at CES: "When I created Microsoft 27 years ago, I never thought I'd create something that would allow me to humiliate myself repeatedly."
