It's official - Sid now supports dragging RSS items from NetNewsWire, and URLs from Chimera. Tasty OS X action!

NetNewsWire takes the lead
As of today, NetNewsWire has become my largest referrer, at 3737, followed by Frontier's aggregator with 3589. The largest non-Google referrer after that is 0xDECAFBAD's aggregator at 1112, followed by Radio Userland's aggregator at 509.
New name?
As I've gotten closer to the 1.0 release of Sid, I've been thinking about the application's name. While Sid is interesting in a vague sort of way, I've had trouble coming up with a decent icon, or brand, for the app. So over the last couple days I've been pondering a new name. Jodi and I were brainstorming last night, and one of our ideas was "Podium" - a place to get your message out. Not too shabby for a weblog tool perhaps?
Debugging Post
I'm trying to determine if my label code is working. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along...
Sid progress
Sid is coming along nicely - although progress is slower than I like. I really want to get to work a new app, but I can't let myself until Sid hits 1.0. Argh. -)
Caring For Your Cast Iron Cookware
For future reference: Caring For You Cast-Iron Cookware. I need to re-season our cast-iron skillet...
Getting closer
I'm ready for bed, but Sid just got its last feature for now. After this I fix bugs for a while. What's the feature? The value selected in the labels menu now actually gets set for the message. Cool, eh?
Removing the "Clear Form" button
I think I've going to remove the "Clear Form" button on Sid's interface. The longer a post I type, the more afraid I am of it - it's like that big, red, "Do Not Push" button - my mouse just starts drifts that direction...
Who Da Man? Jim's Da Man!!
I'm doin' the happy dance! Jim is one of my best friends, and after I mentioned to him that I really wanted a copy of the Cocoa programming book but could not afford it, Jim used his own Amazon $$$ to get me a copy - and it just arrived!! I am so stoked!
Dave's next thing
Dave says:
On the other hand can you imagine me with a job? I'm thinking, can you imagine Dave with a BOSS?
CSI:Miami
Jodi and I taped the premiere of CSI:Miami - we're watching it now. Kinda different from the original - in a cool way. Nice touch - the theme song of this CSI is also by The Who. -)
iCalShare.com
I've already forgotten where I found this, but iCalShare.com is a clearing house for iCal calendars you can subscribe to. One of interest I found was the Arizona Mac User's Group (AMUG - calendar here).
Icon needed
One thing I really need is an icon for Sid. If you're a designer with a generous streak, let me know. -) Right now it has a generic icon:
What is it about 3 am?
It's weird, on these nights when I keep coding after Jodi goes off to bed, I can't seem to leave off working until around 3 am. I'm likely to feel like crap tomorrow, and I'll have no one but myself to blame. Bleagh.
Sid 0.8.0 ready for alpha soon
Well, it's been a long road, but the next version of Sid is going to go alpha soon. I can't believe it, myself. After being out of work for several months now I finally decided to get myself back into some Cocoa development - Sid being a priority.
Spare Parts weblog
I've started a new weblog on this site for posts relating to software I'm developing, starting with Sid. I have another project in the works that I'm not ready to announce yet, but when I do it too will be discussed.
This is another test
I'm now testing my ping code for Sid. I have to post here (instead of to my local copy of Conversant) because weblogs.com tried to read the site when you ping. So in order to check that it's all working I have to post to (and ping for) a site weblogs.com can reach.
Another tentative test
I'm up to my greasy armpits in Sid tonight (this morning?)... this is another test to see if I've got it all back together. I seem to remember that my Dad once thought he had that old Triumph motorcycle all back together too...
