On Embedded Tweets, Part Deux

While there's no reason to criticize Twitter's new "embedding" service on technical grounds, there are a few reasons to criticize it on usefulness grounds. When I last spoke of this, I was looking for a tool that would let us curate groups of tweets:

Perl, DBD::mysql, and MySQL *can* play nice on OS X 10.6

After 4 days of pain and frustration, I finally got perl, DBD::mysql, and MySQL running smoothly on my new MacBook Pro, which came with Snow Leopard pre-installed. I happened to run across a post on ServerFault last night and decided to take the time to write up what worked for me as a response, and I'm re-posting it here for my own records:

"Embedded" tweets, aren't. Relax.

Shea Bennet posts a hyperventilating critique of Twitter's new marketing tool to let you embed a tweet in your site: Blackbird Pie:

@apgwoz depending on Twitter's implementation, I might try it.
