... also, for me at least "bookmarks" now means "what I can see in my browser's bookmarks bar. The bookmarks menu is dead to me.
Why has no browser yet embraced the idea of switchable bookmark sets yet? I know there are extensions for firefox, but - ew. Cont'd...

I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that the new features included with TypePad Micro (Six Apart's free microblogging-focused version of TypePad) worked seamlessly with my TypePad Pro blog.
Whence the Permalink?
This morning I'm pondering the place of the permalink in the real-time web ecosystem. Twitter, the poster child of the real-time web, still has them, but I wonder about the utility of that link when we've got updates flying off our dashboards as fast as they do.
Why must all plumbing projects require two hands, two wrenches, and be performed in a space my 8 year-old wouldn't fit in?
