Simplicity and the 10-foot UI

Every so often, I start thinking again about how I'd design a Home Dashboard - a simplified UI that could run on a spare computer, and provide 10-foot access to information like the day's schedule, weather, a bit of news, today's TV schedule, etc.


Weird morning brain: I used to think that when I got to be my grandparents' age, I would think and act like they do now. This morning I realized that I'll probably think and act exactly as I do now - but my grandkids will think of me as just as cantankerous and old-fashioned as I think of my grandparents.
