[via dangerousmeta!] Engineers Tackle Havoc Beneath trade Center. Extremely intersting article about the challenges involved. The WTC was an engineering marvel in every way.
I have no idea if this proposal would work, but I like the idea of combining strength and compassion, something Americans have occasionally proven themselves capable of.
The Nimda virus uses IIS, Outlook, AND Internet Explorer. Um, HELO?? Ever wonder about the fact that ALL THREE of these products are made by one company?

Another set to add to my reading list: Count of Monte Cristo (original by Dumas), and the 5 SF tomes David mentions here.
Sigh. Some script-kiddie decided one exploit per Outlook/IIS worm was not enough, so they’ve bundled 12 or so exploits into one worm. Lovely. Don’t you guys have anything better to do?
Au jourdhui je me souvien que je peux parler un peu de Français. Zut alors!
Heard on NPR:
INTERVIEWER: “What can we do to satisfy Osama bin Laden?”
EXPERT: “Pack up and move to another planet.”
I can’t read more then 1⁄3 of the material on David McCusker’s weblog without coming up for air. It’s like being in a parallel dimension, it seems very like our world, but it very much is not. I should add I admire (or at least am greatly intrigued by) Dave a lot.
