Flack in Blogland: PR and Blogging

Michael Clarke posted (it's an old post, but I just found his weblog) [some mildly tortured self-analytical thoughts](http://llareggolb.blogspot.com/2003_04_01_llareggolb_archive.htmlNone[#200208624](http://monkinetic.blog/tag/200208624)) about being a PR flack and what happens when PR and Blogging collide...

I Love Me, vol. I

Heh. New blog to read: I Love Me, vol. I. Pointed out to me by Bill, who just got his first non-Google, non-Monkinetic referral from them. smile.

RSS for Weblogs

Interesting discussion going on about RSS. Yes, again. Here's Ben Trott talking about a profile for RSS specifically for weblogs. The only thing he includes that I wouldn't is trackback as a requirement.

Hyatt blogs redesigned

Dave Hyatt, beloved of Safari-using geeks everywhere, has had his two blogs redesigned. Very nice!!

Nullgel: "Sneakers Journal"

Nate is building a robot out of LEGO and is documenting the process. His writing style is really clever, IMO.

Internet Help Desk

Those Canadians sure know their comedy.

Geek Receptor Overload

Dave Hyatt:quoteIf my geek receptors aren't burned out by X-Men 2, they are guaranteed to be overloaded by the righteousness of The Matrix Reloaded.endquote MMmmmmm, Matrix.

Back in Coffee Rush

I'm back at Coffee Rush, which currently occupies the "World's Best Coffee Shop" slot in my mind. I'm working on correspondence and listening to Fleetwood Mac on the shop sound system. (Not on my TiBook, which will never be polluted by that stuff...)

Coffee Rush and the web

I got to talk to Mo, owner of Coffee Rush, today. He and his brother Yanni (no idea if I'm spelling that right - they're Jordanian) have been running Coffee Rush for a year now, and evidently started planning for it 5 years ago.

Edit This Statement

Dave says:

Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Tempe

Web, Graphic Design: #enclosure linkonly=" true"='true"' urlonly="true"/>" alt="VCFT Redesign" width="237" height="193" align="right" border="0"> I've been working with the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Tempe (VCFT) in Tempe, Arizona, on a new website. The old site was a very basic static HTML site, managed largely by a single staff member.

DavidSleigh.com... New Again

Quick redesign is done over at http://www.davidsleigh.com/. It's darker, classier, and more artistic, and makes David happy. smile

Picking Up My Slack

Jodi, dear that she is, has been picking up my blogging slack lately over on . She's covered our visit to Paulo Soleri's Arcosanti, my mom's plans for an Ivy Family portal, as well as a site of her own, and she's reviewed X-Men 2, which we saw yesterday (hint- it rocked!). If posting seems slack here, for the latest!

My New Dental-Fu Technique

Jodi and I were given a SoniCare sonic toothbrush as an early birthday gift. Interesting, to receive dental care for your birthday... I actually really really like it.

Seth's Walking for the ACS

Seth is walking in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life on May 30. He wants to raise $400 (he already has over $200 raised - go Seth!) for the walk - if you can help out, it'll be going to an awesome cause!

Arizona Politico-Blogger-for-hire

Dave points to this Ed Cone entry and hilites Ed's remark about running for office.

D I G I T A L L Y - I M P O R T E D - European Trance, Techno, Hi-NRG: This is one of my favorite net radio stations. if you have iTunes, you can find it under Radio > Electronica, though it's really Trance Techno. Lots of beats, grinds, and other trancey stuff to get your groove on.

What he said

Keola Donaghy sums up my feelings on Apple's Music Store exactly: quote...please don't ignore the greater potential of this service to level the playing field for artists and smaller labels who cannot get the attention of the major labels that are now available on your service.endquote

The Microphone Riots

rdiv_start I just finished a site for a buddy of mine, David Sleigh. His site, The Microphone Riots, is at http://www.davidsleigh.com (or here until the dns propogates).

mod_rewriteless

Ouch. I'm working on a client's site today and I find out that his hosting provider does not provide mod_rewrite. This is a sad day indeed. I'm currently pleading with tech support. Wish me luck.
