At their most beautiful...

Tim Jarret saw R.E.M. in concert. Sounds like an awesome show! They're going to be at Red Rocks Sept 13, but there's no way I can make it this year. ($54 before TicketMaster fees!)

In which case...

Eric Meyer went and saw Weird Al Yankovic...

Labor Day Weekend

Jodi and I took a real-life vacation this weekend! We drove out to Yucaipa, California, about 6 hours west of Phoenix. We saw the salton Sea (HOT and humid and boring), windmill farms around Palm Springs, got to go sailing with friends on the Pacific (launching from Long Beach) and go hiking in the mountains of San Bernardino National Forest.

Perma-Wiki

BlueOxen has a Wiki implementation with perma-links. Kinda oxymoronic, but cool.

Wakka Wakka Doo Doo Yeah!!

Oh, yeah! Sept 4, Dodge Theater, Phoenix...

Back On The Air

Jim points out that we're back on the air. Yay!

Attractive *and* accessible?

I'm reading Mark Pilgrim's Dive Into Accessibility site, and also Joe Clark's Building Accessible Websites. Both are invaluable websites.

Web Accessibility Guideline Checkpoints By Priority

If you're working on making a site accessible, and need to know what it means to satisfy level 1, 2, or 3 of conformance to the Web Accessibility guidelines, here's the checklist.

Reality Bites

Man, oh man. So I got my PC today, a hand-me-down from my dad. I needed something to test out the sites I've been developing on, and I'm sad to say I've looked them over.

Dive Into Accessibility

I'm about to start a site for an organization that works with the visually impaired, so I thought I'd dig up Mark Pilgrim's excellent resource, Dive Into Accessibility.

Interview

In about an hour I'm going to my first face-to-face job interview in 14 months. I'm nervous.

Post-Interview

Whew. Well, my interview skills are rusty. Thanks for all the well-wishes from friends and family.

Speedy Macs Finally Arrive

Apple is finally shipping the new (drool, drool) G5s. Oooooh, baby!

The World As A Blog

Watch the world blog in real-time... very cool!

SSH-Agent

I've been trying to get ssh-agent running on my os x box so that I can work on a remote linux box without having to type my password everytime, and I'm having a crap time getting it to work, and I have no idea why.

Bloggle

unstaged - credit for finding the cool word goes to Bill, Sandi, and Jodi

Nate's bot

Nate is building a robot out of LEGO and custom-built electronics, and it is amazing. It's radio controlled right now and has a radio transmitting video camera. Check out this video of it in action (12.8 mb Quicktime). Go LEGOMAN!

Granting Subsite Admin Permissions in psql

Sometimes we need to grant admin permissions for a subsite to a group or member. Right now the groups admin pages are horked, and you have to do it via psql.

I don't know why I'm bothering...

Since this will be gone soon I'm sure.

Why do they keep yelling at me?

Good info on how to be a math/systems geek (read Programmer) and not drive your management ballistic and yourself out of a job.
