Just posted this to the webobjects-newbies list: Google found this GREAT pdf from Apple's WWDC 2000 on Optimizing WebObjects applications, by long time WO developers CodeFab. If you're starting out in WO - go read it. Now.

Ok, I'm a lemming - along with dozens of other weblogs, I've submitted an application for an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) (like an ISBN but for serials) for "Redmonk.Net" as an online serial publication. Man, That's cool.

RSSPuller is an applescript applet that works with a fantastic Mac outliner called BrainForest. Brainforest Professional is the desktop version of a Aportis's Palm outliner. BrainForest is also very scriptable, with a flexible object model for manipulating outlines. Here's what you end up with from RSSPuller:

This afternoon I registered, along with Jodi, for the MacWorld Expo in San Fransisco. Wooooohooooo!!! I have always wanted to be at one of these events. So, Jan 9th through the 14th we'll be on the left coast, checking out San Fransisco and all that's new in the Mac Universe. ;-)

To document the trip, I've created a new MWSF 2001 section on the site, as well as a weblog, of course! In time, the MacWorld Expo section will get it's own template, with links to interesting tidbits as I see fit.

If anyone is going to be at MW, post a response to this message, and let's set up a time to meet and greet! All are welcome!

P.S. - I apologize, the weblog link is currently broken. Please be patient.

P.P.S. - Thanks to Flip from "Macrobyte", my MWSF weblog is now fixed!

Anton Corbyn, the photographer for U2's Achtung Baby album, does them again for All That You Can't Leave Behind.

You can now get Recent Redmonk as an RSS file. I've wanted this for while, and due to Conversant's flexibility, there'tis!

One app I'm eagerly awaiting on "Mac OS X" is WriteUp, from Anderson Financial Systems. WriteUp is an excellent word processor, and has been available on just about every iteration of NeXTSTEP, OPENSTEP, and Rhapsody; there should be a version for Mac OS X available by the end of October, as evidenced here.

Oillogger.com: Edmonton Oilers weblog launches with first game of season

A new weblog for the Edmonton Oilers launched this evening with not even an hour to go before the first game of the season.

Now, I don't give a lick about hockey, but "Jim" is the Man, so check out his most-cool site for his hometown favs.
