On Sargeant Pepper and OS X: And then I thought to myself, "What the hell am I doing here?" I'd noticed a quarter of an inch difference between the drop shadows on some windows in OS X, and here I was acting like I was the first person to decode the 'Paul is dead' hidden messages.
It's about time...
MSNBC is carrying a WSJ article about the controversy over business-process patents. I don't know what the solution is to this, but it's good to see the issue coming up in the courts and legislative systems. Now, if they can only keep from breaking the system even more...
Mail Pages return
Dave has put the Userland Discussion Group on pause, and is re-instituting the "Mail Pages", which ran '96..'98. To help ease the time burden is Radio Userland, Dave's üautber-content-tool.
Back and Forth
"Jim" links back here, pointing to my comments on the "Mail Pages". Well, here's a reciprocal link to say that I agree with his follow-up comments.
Results are coming in...
I've now had a chance to use "Mac OS X" on both a 12" 800x600 iBook, and a 19" 1200x1600 monitor. I was pleased to discover that Mac OS X's Aqua interface works well on both.
JBuilder on Mac OS X Beta
Borland has provided instructions for installing JBuilder on OS X, mirrored here.
Under the magnifying glass
"ArsTechnica" has an article on Mac OS X. Ars Technica always casts a keen eye over the material for their reviews. They are extraodinairily thorough - if you're a Mac OS X fan, or curious, definitely read this.

<grin>
On a Roll
"Jim"'s been busy today, and has links and opinion on violence in hockey, Corel and Microsoft, and more. Check him out...
Patent on Content Publishing granted
eMedicine has been granted a patent on an internet-based publishing system. This is not good. I wonder how big the CMS company will have to be to get slapped with licensing or a cease-and-desist letter? This big? This big? This big?
Label Links
As seen on Brian Carnell's home page, I've added Labels to my weblog entries. You can click the label to see all messages with that label, making it easy to see all my weblog postings about XML, Mac OS X, or Software Engineering, for example.
Omni Outliner
Ever the outliner enthusiast, I downloaded Omni Outliner. It's not half bad. Not to mention that it runs on one of my favorite OSes. ;-)
RDF In Java
HP has an API called Jena for manipulating RDF in Java. I'm definitely going to check this out.
Jim's got it, too!
Jim Roepcke's got his copy of Mac OS X, too, and posted his first message from the Uber-OS.
