The Nimda virus uses IIS, Outlook, AND Internet Explorer. Um, HELO?? Ever wonder about the fact that ALL THREE of these products are made by one company?

"This means that if you go and browse a page and you don't have the correct security on your browser, it looks as though the Javascript attempts to forward the virus from your machine to everyone in your contacts book." Cluley said the suspicion is that only Internet Explorer is vulnerable to this exploit..."

I can't read more then 1/3 of the material on David McCusker's weblog without coming up for air. It's like being in a parallel dimension, it seems very like our world, but it very much is not. I should add I admire (or at least am greatly intrigued by) Dave a lot.

Israel and the Palestinians have called a truce. Astonishingly, it was Yasser Arafat to step out with a unilateral cease-fire. Isreal quickly followed suit. I say astonishingly because while I am generally pro-Israel, the Palestinians have had NO reason recently to lay down arms.

Sigh. Some script-kiddie decided one exploit per Outlook/IIS worm was not enough, so they've bundled 12 or so exploits into one worm. Lovely. Don't you guys have anything better to do?

Motorola completes 1.6GHz PowerPC G5. "Beyond far higher clock speeds, the G5 will be a full 64-bit chip, but will support 32-bit addressing at full speed. The part will also support multi-processor configurations."

The drive in this morning was beautiful. As the days get shorter my morning drive has come closer to dawn. This morning the sunrise was amazing - the air was clear and crisp, the sunlight stretching itself over downtown Portsmouth was warm and bright. Nice way to start the week.

I'm struggling with mixed emotions this morning. I wrote some notes while this site was down and I couldn't post. I'll post them later. I thought I was getting over the shock, but now that personal stories are coming out, I'm wounded more than ever.
