Israel and the Palestinians have called a truce. Astonishingly, it was Yasser Arafat to step out with a unilateral cease-fire. Isreal quickly followed suit. I say astonishingly because while I am generally pro-Israel, the Palestinians have had NO reason recently to lay down arms.

Sigh. Some script-kiddie decided one exploit per Outlook/IIS worm was not enough, so they've bundled 12 or so exploits into one worm. Lovely. Don't you guys have anything better to do?

I have no idea if this proposal would work, but I like the idea of combining strength and compassion, something Americans have occasionally proven themselves capable of.

The drive in this morning was beautiful. As the days get shorter my morning drive has come closer to dawn. This morning the sunrise was amazing - the air was clear and crisp, the sunlight stretching itself over downtown Portsmouth was warm and bright. Nice way to start the week.
