Janis Ian on RIAA, internet music downloads

This has been blogged a number of other places, but I just got around to reading it and you should too.

Spaceballs!

Hehe. Jodi has never seen Spaceballs, and it just came on TBS. Fun!

Cradle Will Rock

Jodi and I are watching an all-star cast in Cradle Will Rock.

Yay Amazon!

I got my first gift via my Amazon wishlist today!

Java/WebObjects Developer

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am now available for Java/WebObjects work. I also have some experience in J2EE/Servlets, and a degree in Graphic Design. I've been developing websites in a number of environments since 1996, and have worked with clients to help them define their needs and requirements.

To Read: MacHack paper on Cocoa plugins

Found here.

Redmonk.Net Schwag

Check it out.

Redmonk Mug?

Would you imbibe hot caffeinated beverages from a mug bearing... this?

Official Footwear of Arizona

When it's 112&degree out, less is more...

WebLogger MEETUP

(Thanks Doc!) Meet MEETUP, the site that lets you arrange meetups with like-minded people in your area. There's a weblogger meetup group, too. ;)

Eclipse 2.0 released, wherefore Mac OS X?

Eclipse 2.0 has been released. Eclipse is a Meta-IDE, an integrated development environment for programmers that can be configured to work with most any language/runtime. You can download 2.0 here, but I'm wondering what would need to be done to get a copy running on Mac OS X. There are Win32 and native X Windows versions... but it seems there's no (at elast) Pure Java version.

CSS-based theme pervades Redmonk.Net

I finally got around to switching the rest of this site over to the CSS-based them I use on the homepage (blog). I believe it loads a bit faster now, too. (Check one more thing off my redmonk TODO list...)

Crazy Unicycle Guy

We went hiking at South Mountain last weekend, and we saw this guy on his mountain-bike-unicycle. He rides the trails over South Mountain just like the other (seemingly thousands) of cyclists. Nuts. Just plain nuts. I can't imagine the strength or balance required for this.

Bowling

Jodi and I went bowling last night with a bunch of friends from church. Neither of us had been bowling since junior high, so we were abit rusty. I think my three games were 84, 98, and 102. Ouch. But - we had a blast! Hanging out with friends, having a great time, it was all a Friday night should be. I managed a couple strikes, completely by luck I'm sure! Jodi got one or two as well, and we both had (more than) our fair share of gutterballs! Thank goodness we were with friends! -)

Wishlist

I finally set up my wishlist at Amazon. If you'd like to make me real happy, pick something from that list! :)

Mac OS X Web Services Apps

Brent is thinking about creating a mailing list for Mac OS X application developers who are working in the area of webservices, specifically desktop apps for web services. I think this is a great idea, and will help show others what a great platform Mac OS X is!

Genius Bar (or "Weblogger in a fedora")

David McCusker had a crappy experience with the "Geniuses" at this local Apple Store's Genius Bar.

The Pledge

Jodi and Jim are having a good discussion (starts here) about the 9th Circuit Court's ruling regarding the Pledge Of Allegiance. Check it out.

r.e.m.IX

R.E.M. has released an album's worth of remixed songs from REVEAL. This is just so cool. The story of how it happened is here.

Fetchmail, procmail, SpamAssassin

I've got some time this evening, so I'm going through the process of setting up fetchmail, procmail, and spamassassin on my TiBook. (fetchmail and procmail come installed on OS X) I hate SPAM.
