This is a reminder to all you out there that I'm available for web development positions, esp. pure-Java and WebObjects. I'm also interested in Mac OS X programming.

Blogtranet
I applied for a job today maintaining a company's intranet. It reminded me of my beginnings in web work, and reminded me again why I love blogging so much. Fast, easy, web content.
What is Sid?
I told someone today:
I'd like [to] communicate that the app is where you go to get your point across - a launching off point for eloquence, soliloquy, and the ravings of the madman.

Shoot
I added that last post to the wrong weblog. Oh well. It worked anyway, the pinger pinged, and that's all I care about.
Danger Hiptop

Pinging again...
Is it working? It seems to be working. After all this messing around with NSURLHandles and such, lowly NSString came to the rescue with [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:aUrl]
Attributed Posts
You'll notice more attributed and quoted posts upcoming - that's because Sid now accepts dragged items from NetNewsWire, and creates the attributions and quotes automatically.
New Ping Test
I was having trouble with my xmlrpc ping code, then Jim suggested using the http interface. Like, duh. <smacks forehead>
Sid Prefs
I'm seriously considering implementing an application preferences system in Sid, using Apple's built in NSUserDefaults system. Candidates for prefs:
Collecting Error information
I'm working on some code that emails error reports from my application. I'm wondering:
Everyone's going in Drag
[via Michael McCracken - Weblog ] > <<<BLOCKQUOTE: ...A key part of this is the simple things like making sure drag-and-drop and copy-and-paste work between all these different apps.I agree. Brent's RSS clipboard format spec looks solid, and will definitely be a useful contribution. I dragged the above quote from NetNewsWire into Blapp, which doesn't use Brent's clipboard format (but works for me). My question to Blapp users is this: would it be worthwhile to add support for this? >>> (link)
Spare Parts, Sid
I've been updating the spare parts weblog lately, check it out for progress on Sid.
Sid, Drag Queen
It's official - Sid now supports dragging RSS items from NetNewsWire, and URLs from Chimera. Tasty OS X action!
