A Screenplay in the Family
Jodi's family (parents and younger brother) just got into town. SkyHarbor Airport was (as to be expected) a madhouse, but we successfully managed to find them, reunite them with their luggage, and get them home. Since being out here, we've reallly missed family, so it's really really nice to have them here!
Who Is Sen. Bill Frist?
Kuro5hin has a short blurb on the about-to-be new Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Bill Frist.
Less Computer, More blogging
I'm going to kick myself for this later I'm sure (for making commitments I can't, or won't, keep) but I think this next year I'm going to try to sit at the computer less, but get more done while I'm there. This includes blogging, since it's the only writing practice I get, and I need to focus outwards sometimes.
Web Outliners
I composed my R.E.M. and Jesus Christ post in OmniOutliner (for which I still need to get a license - outlines of < 20 lines are useless) and it reminded me once again of my love of writing in an outliner. I really would like to have a "compose-in-outline" mode in Sid one day.
LOTR: The Two Towers
Well, Jodi and I saw the new Lord Of The Rings movie, The Two Towers, yesterday. It was great. Amazing, actually. There were a few discrepancies from the book, but none that I thought really detracted from the story. More action, darker, faster moving - like the book.
RSD
I've been following the development of Daniel Berlinger's None pretty closely, since I'm the author of a weblog editor called Sid. I imagine my users (both of them!) will want RSD support (I know I do).
R.E.M. and Jesus Christ
I got my R.E.M. Fan Club Holiday Single today. It features two tracks, one of which is an actual Christmas song of unknown origin, called Jesus Christ. The other is called No Matter What.
NoteTaker 2003
Aquaminds has just released NoteTaker 2003, a most cool outliner and organizer. NoteTaker lets you define sections and pages (outlines) in your notebook document, maintains a table of contents (also an outline) and lets you drag most any kind of file into it. It also help you maintain quite a list of metadata, and record audio bits too (which you can then drag out of the outline as mp3 files). This is really cool, and I'm going to explore some more.
Weblogger
I suspect I'm turning into a not-very-good weblogger. There's a certain thought process, a certain tendency, that I've had before and now seem to lack.
Don't like slow Radio? Get another computer!
Adam Curry is having performance problems with Radio Userland, too. (Adam is on Mac OS X I believe). Dave's suggestion:

Peace and blessings to our family members and dear friends! We truly serve a loving, holy, and awesome God whose blessings never cease and whose goodness knows no limit!
We hope to communicate some of the ways that He has blessed us in the past year or so.
We moved from Portsmouth, Virginia to Tempe, Arizona in October, 2001. We made this rather dramatic move because Steve accepted a position doing some specialized web development work for U-Haul in central Phoenix. God's grace was abundant from the beginning. Our house in Portsmouth sold fairly quickly. In Arizona, We found a wonderful church within weeks and felt God knitting us into the body of Christ here.
In February, we bought a house in Gilbert, AZ a little further East from Tempe, in a lovely neighborhood with attractive lakes, walking paths,a park, and nice landscaping.
We really like it in Arizona especially the beautiful sunshine and drier weather. But mostly we felt that the Lord had His hand on us and brought us here to work out His purposes in us.
Jodi took a job working for Re-Mac Computers from January through May helping them launch their software training programs at two locations. It was an enjoyable job, but Jodi desired to focus on some other things and resigned in early May. Soon after that Steve lost the job at U-Haul (about mid-June), and our lives have taken some interesting and unexpected turns.

What do you mean it's Christmas?
We're finally getting around to decorating our recently purchased tree tonight. I spent all night last night getting the darn thing to stand up (more or less) straight (stupid live tree -)) and getting the lights on.
