I'm trying to convince my co-worker Hans to update his site, H2. He says he doesn't get enough traffic to justify the effort, so it's up to all of you out there to visit him.

Well, two days into using Mozilla I'm still happy with it. It's so quick, and it renders exactly the same on my Mac OS X box as on my Windows 2000 box. Amazing. Even Microsoft with their billions can't do that. Open Source rocks.

This article (via xblog) is really, really interesting. I would love to see an implementation of this in action.

Jim has started using Mozilla as his main browser. I've downloaded it and am checking it out. Jim s right - it's fast as... it's fast. But there are some nagging bits that are bugging me: The current gotcha is that I can't seem to drag bookmarks around in my "Manage Bookmarks" window. I want to! I really do! But Moz seems to not like drag and drop. How do I re-organizae my bookmarks then? Jim?

I found out that the bike shop I went to for years (1988 - 1996, when I stopped riding frequently) has a website. These guys are really knowledgeable. I'm looking for a shop closer to my neighborhood, but if I don't find one, I'm making these guys my shop of choice once again.

Well, it looks like I'm going to be buying a pickup from my brother-in-law, and this morning I bought a mountain bike. Finally! I got it pretty cheap, and it's a decent bike. Jodi's going to want me to spend some time getting her bike up to speed, then we can start riding together. ;-) I think we're going to also start going to the rock gym again.

Yes, I'm 30(!) years old today. Wow.

There's a song I heard on the radio the other day that I cannot for the life of me figure out the title or artist for. I can remember some of the lyrics on the chorus, but that's it. And I can hear the main hook in my head something fierce. The lyrics go something like (please don't laugh):

John Rhodes makes the case that as long as we're concerned about Microsoft's shared source, or smart tags, Microsoft is winning, because they are moving to a service model where they control the infrastructure of authentication and personal information, and internet services. Hmmm.

Ok, thinking about Smart-Tags-done-right again... Here's a free idea. I'd like to see a Mac OS X service (probably need to be imeplemented in Java) that lets me download libraries of XLinks, then (optionally by using the service) tags words in my documents with a popup menu of possible links. This would build on work done in XLink, make use of existing Java-based XLink libraries, and be a total opt-in. Everything, of course, that Smart Tags aren't.
