This is turning out to be a Coen Brothers weekend. We watched Oh Brother Where Art Thou? the other day and we're watching The Big Lebowski tonight.

Anytime, Anywhere
Well, we're finally getting high-speed internet access through Cox. And today we bought this little gem for our apartment. Finally my dream of getting online, anytime, anywhere in or around my home will be realized.
HyperCard and the Web
_What if you could design, create and edit a stack in a single outline? That's what I have working. Instead of the runtime being Hypercard, the runtime is the Web. _
I have a problem with this... I learned to program using HyperCard and HyperTalk. What Dave has working is HyperTalk in an outline, with placeholders for GUI elements. Frontier has a great outliner. I won't dispute it. But an outliner is not the place to develop visual interfaces.
Dave re-invents ASP ;-)
Heh. Dave is working on some way of including/setting form elements in his outlines. Looks like ASP. Why the new syntax, Dave? What happened to {usertalk.macro.syntax}?
Licensing Issues
Today we go to get our Arizona drivers licenses. They do things differently out here. Like there's no property tax on your car but it costs $120 to get a license plate.
Blog Satisfaction
I once told Hans that the frequency with which I post here is inversely proportionate to my job satisfaction. You be the judge.
Final Fantasy... Finally
Well, I finally rented Final Fantasy. I think I'm glad I did not see it in the theater - the graphics are amazing, but I'm not sure they could withstand the scrutiny on a full-size movie screen. The plot is not bad though.
Love That Globalization
This is, in fact, not a sarcastic comment on the Americanization of the world. In the process of moving to Phoenix, I've apppreciated the fact that I can go to a Target, a Walmart, or a Blockbuster and know how it works.
We're here
And we're mostly in one piece. I'm writing this post on, yes, my new TiBook, christened "Ti Fighter". I love that you can name your Mac. I'm going to ramble.
in absentia
This is Steve's wife, Jodi. Just thought you all might like to know that Steve (and cats) are on the road to Arizona as of 4 am this morning. But the adventure has evidently just begun.
Garage Man
I've spent the better part of today (and I do mean it was better ;-)) out in the soon-to-be-no-longer-mine garage, cleaning and packing and seperating the valuable shit from the ditritus. The valuable stuff get's either packed or put into the moving-sale pile. The ditritus goes into the Big Black Can. Rockin out to the radio (oh god for a portable MP3 player) and futzing around the garage. Heaven.
Creating the backstory
(I'm ready to change my whole label system, so a lot of stuff these days is going into "Personal Ramblings because I don't have categories anymore for what I want to say. I think I'm going to simplify my categories, and use keywords to group similar postings.)
Insert Cleverism Here
I'm really tired, and the above title will have to do. Suggestions can be sent here.
Rush Limbaugh going deaf
I was just listening to Rush Limbaugh - something I hardly ever do anymore, since he's more of a blowhard now than ever... but I was in the car running errands earlier, and tuned in. It turns out Rush is going deaf, and has been for many months. He's wearing hearing aids now, and if his current medications do not help, he will probably be 100% deaf in a month or so.
I am steveivy at uhaul dot com
Until making it out to Phoenix, I've been set up with the First Class client, so I can access U-Haul's email system and groupware environment. I've never used First Class before, and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. From what I hear it's been this good for 12 years. Soooooo, why is Exchange even on the radar?
