I've been toying with the idea of writing a python library for Apple's Keynote file format, APXL.

Anyone out there interested in (or know of) a python users group in the Phoenix metro area? I'd like to find like-minded individuals to hang with and learn from.

I'm day-tripping up to Sedona today to do some Mac troubleshooting for a client. Gorgeous country AND Macs? How nice.

I've been working on a python-based app for a week or so now (on and off) and I've run into a spate of problems I don't know how to handle.

Scott Johnson is at it again. After better grokking a suggestion I made, he implemented a new feature on Feedster: getting an RSS version of a single cached blog post, by passing in the url of a permalink for that post.

Scott Johnson of Feedster posted about two new support tools they've got - a new web board, and the feedster-dev mailing list (Yahoo).

I'm looking for a reputable basic hosting provider for a client. Apache and CGI (or mod_perl), between 75 and 100mb of disk space, and around $20/mo.

Right now I'm hacking on a small project involving blogs and news, and so far I've been using Blogdex and Technorati for my data.

Recently Aaron Hillegass posted a pointed diatribe to the Cocoa-Dev list about Apple's new NSController layer in Mac OS 10.3. Today, he posted an explanation and partial retraction, showing an astounding amount of mental clarity and humility in the process. Way to go, Aaron!!

[Wired] Aussie's Do It Right: E-Voting. This group developed an open-source electronic voting solution that went far to assuage fears of problems with the process, since the code was out there for anyone to examine and validate.

Another question for the technically-minded:

There's a trailer up now(Quicktime, large) for Disney's Home on the Range, a new animated film done in the same style as The Emperor's New Groove.

Having, with Panther, gotten a command-line with easy to turn on coloring of directory listings, I went in search of something that would tell me what colors I could use.

Hehe. I went looking for information again this year on planting a winter lawn (something we have to do in Arizona since the Bermuda that survuves the summer heat can't survive the cooler winter temps) and discovered that my weblog post from last year is the #2 result on Google for arizona winter lawn. Not that it helps, but it was funny.
